Our visit to Baguio City will not be complete without a trip to the Baguio City Public Market. Located right in the heart of Baguio City near Burnham Park we can always stroll by whenever we are near. Usually, it does not happen that way. The best time to go here is when we are about to go home because of pasalubongs!

Baguio City Public Market

The public market is quite big, there the wet section where you can find meats, vegetable sections where you can find vegetables (duh!), pasalubong section, rice, coffee, and many more.

Let us start with my favorite section in the market, the coffee section. This is my primary reason to go to Baguio City Public Market. Here you can find Kape Umali and Garcia’s Pure Coffee. You can have your coffee be grinded here and they also sell tablea.

Different types of rice can also be brought in the market.

And there is the pasalubong section where you can buy lots of different stuff to give to your family and friends or just keep it to yourself. From Peanut Brittle to Weaved Products, walis tambo to kulangot.

You can buy Peanut Brittle, Lengua de Gato, Chocolate Flakes, Pili Nuts and many more snacks in the Pasalubong Section. It is like a street full of pasalubong.

If you plan on buying Peanut Brittle I would recommend buying the brand Romana. My mother has been buying this brand ever since we were small children and we love it.

You can also buy the sundot kulangot. Though yucky sounding since sundot kulangot literally means picking booger, it actually is kalamay. It is a mixture of rice flour, coconut milk and molasses. A bit squishy and definitely yummy. It is one of the must try in Baguio.

Best if you buy this and give it to your friend and after they eat it tell them the name of what they ate. The look of yuckyness will be there. Just make sure to explain that it is actually kalamay in a really nice packaging.

Here are 3 photos of Sundot Kulangot for your pleasure.

There are also the famous Baguio Walis Tambo.

And some weaved items.

If you want Longganisas from around the region you can also buy them at the Longganisa Section.

If you happen to buy many stuff you can actually have them boxed so you can carry them easier or you can chance upon some kids selling strong shopping bags made of recycled sacks.

There are still a lot of places in the Baguio City Public Market I have not visited and I look forward to visiting them on my next travel there.

All in all Baguio City Public Market is one of the must visit places in Baguio. We always go here for personal consumption and friendly pasalubong purposes. Sometimes we visit here with our bags when we are on the way to

P. S. According to most tinderas and tinderos in the market they open around 5AM and close at around 7PM.
